Indian Textile Association Gears Up for Eco Conference 400 Delegates to Propel Sustainable Practices
The Textile Association (India), Mumbai unit, is set to host an international conference, “Sustainability and Circularity—The New Challenges for The Textile Value Chain,” on January 31, 2024. With 400 delegates in attendance, the event aims to facilitate discussions on adopting sustainable and circular practices in the textile industry.

The conference will feature esteemed guests, including Virendra Singh (IAS), Secretary (Textiles), and Roop Rashi (IA&AS), Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Keynote speaker Dr. Naresh Tyagi, Chief Sustainability Officer at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, will address the audience, joined by industry leaders such as Ullhas Nimkar, Mayank Mody, and Shailendra K Joshi.
The comprehensive agenda covers various aspects of sustainability and circularity in textiles, featuring a panel discussion on “Achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs).” Moderated by Chandrima Chatterjee, Secretary General of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), the panel includes prominent figures like Rahul Bhajekar, Kapil Pathare, and Avik Banerjee.
The conference provides a platform for industry experts to share insights, discuss challenges, and explore solutions, fostering a collaborative approach toward a more sustainable and circular textile value chain.
