The Pakistan women’s cricket team made history on Tuesday by securing a series win against the New Zealand women’s team, taking the series 2-0. This is the first time Pakistan has ever won a T20I series against New Zealand, and it comes after a string of eight consecutive losses.
Opting to bat first, Pakistan put up a competitive total of 137 runs for the loss of six wickets. Aaliyah Riaz played a key role in Pakistan’s innings, scoring 32 runs off 22 balls, including a six and three fours. Muneeba Ali also made a significant contribution with 35 runs.
New Zealand’s chase fell short as they could only manage 127 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Fatima Sana was the standout performer for Pakistan with the ball, taking three wickets, while Saeeda Iqbal picked up two wickets.
