Pakistan Business Expo 2024 Aims to Strengthen Economic Ties with the US
Pakistan is gearing up for the Pakistan Business Expo 2024, scheduled for October in Houston, with the goal of bolstering trade relations with the United States. Amir Piprani, President of the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce (PCC-USA), announced the expo, which will feature a diverse range of Pakistani products spanning various sectors such as IT, beauty and health, food and beverages, textiles, and jewelry.
Despite recent challenges in bilateral relations, the PCC-USA sees the event as a crucial opportunity to expand and diversify economic collaboration between the two nations.

In a virtual meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, Piprani emphasized the expo’s role in promoting sectors like IT, energy, agriculture, and minerals. The creation of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in July aims to expedite foreign investments, providing a streamlined process for investors seeking opportunities in Pakistan’s market.
Ambassador Khan expressed confidence that SIFC would serve as a one-window solution, facilitating investments across the economy.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has called for constructive engagement between the US and Pakistan, highlighting Pakistan’s significance as a “country of consequence.” The focus is on moving beyond security concerns to enhance bilateral trade, particularly in sectors such as food, IT, and pharmaceuticals.
The expo aligns with Pakistan’s broader strategy to attract US investment and contribute to the reshaping of global supply chains, serving as a gateway to Central Asia.
Despite China’s influential role, Pakistani officials believe the nation can play a vital role in diversifying supply chains and fostering economic cooperation with the US. The expo serves as a significant step towards reinforcing economic ties and fostering collaboration between Pakistan and the United States.
