India’s jute production is expected to fall over 20 per cent in 2023-24, missing the 100 lakh bale mark for the seventh consecutive year.
The estimated output of 87.98 lakh bales contrasts with the 110.83 lakh bales in 2013-14.
Last two years have seen outputs of around 89-90 lakh bales, indicating a consistent shortfall in meeting production targets.
