In Karachi, Muhammad Usman, Pakistan’s Representative in the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK), highlighted the growing interest of the German government and businesses in strengthening trade and investment ties with Pakistan.
He mentioned the establishment of a Pakistan desk at AHK in Dubai as a response to this interest.
The German delegation expressed a desire to expand ties between German Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Pakistan, with AHK facilitating connections through networking, business-to-business meetings, and trade delegations’ visits.
The German Consulate in Karachi and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) welcomed the delegation, discussing potential collaboration in sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable textiles, and leather. President of KCCI, Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, emphasized the need to reduce trade barriers, diversify products, and promote SMEs for enhanced economic integration.
The German delegation mentioned upcoming initiatives in sustainable textiles, leather, and energy infrastructure projects in Pakistan, highlighting the interest of German SMEs in exploring opportunities in the region, especially in collaboration with Pakistani counterparts.
